I like to believe that people in the long run are going to
do more to promote peace than our governments. Indeed,
I think that people want peace so much that, one of these days,
governments had better get out of the way and let them have it.

Ordinary People/Extraordinary Outcomes Award ~ 2006
Back to Awards |
On May 12, 2006, Nola Drazdoff was
presented with the Ordinary People, Extraordinary Outcomes Award, by Wisdom University.
The award was presented at the Sacred Activism Conference in Seattle Washington.
Nola was chosen for this award because of her commitment to her calling to travel the world as an ambassador
for non-violence, spiritual and cultural bridge-building and respect for all.
She delights in traveling and
leading others in tours all around the globe. Her emphasis is on helping all those she leads on trips,
and those they encounter along the way to recognize the unity that connects all beings while honoring the
beauty in their diversity.
Her work in the Middle East, particularly in Israel and Palestine, has helped
countless people. Whether she is talking with school children, counseling grieving mothers and victims of
violence, writing to women in war torn countries, mentoring teenagers or delivering needed medical supplies
to marginalized villages, Nola brings a special presence of peace and harmony into the midst of difficulty
and conflict. Her energy and warmth opens doors and builds bridges. No matter where she is or who she is
with, Nola seeks to communicate the precious value in each person she encounters, especially those who are
most marginalized and disenfranchised. Her presence makes the world a better and more peaceful place.

One day we must come to see that peace is not merely a distant goal we seek,
but that it is a means by which we arrive at that goal.
We must pursue peaceful ends through peaceful means.

Imagine all the people
living life in peace
You may say I'm a dreamer,
but I'm not the only one.
I hope some day you'll join us,
and the world will live as one.
