Nola at Tanah Lot Temple |
Bali is an incredibly beautiful, magical and powerful place on our planet.
It is one of the few places on earth where spirituality is completely
integrated with every day life. The Balinese people are warm, open
and generous. The predominant religious practice on this island in
Indonesia is Balinese Hinduism. The Balinese people spend approximately
one third of their lives either preparing for or participating in
religious ceremony! The island is literally alive with spiritual energy.
It is a life changing experience to immerse oneself in the magic and
beauty of this incredible place.
Some Inspired Path® Tours will include yoga practice/instruction
as an integral part of the journey. Other trips may offer yoga as
an optional supplemental component.

I search for a word to encapsulate the Bali experience with Nola.
"Rapture" is defined as:
'The state of being transported by a lofty emotion; ecstasy. The transporting
of a person from one place to another, especially to heaven.'
That expresses it rather nicely. A trip to that enchanting place with Nola
truly transports one by a lofty emotion from one place to another-and it
certainly seems like heaven. The people are warm, friendly and magnificently
colorful. The landscape with its deep green terraced rice paddies, wonderful
mountainous terrain covered with palm forests, and incomparable ocean views
must be described as one breath-taking moment after another.
I was told while I was there that there is no word in their language for art. I
interpreted that to mean that to distinguish a concept with a particular word
infers a quality of that concept that isolates it from the other concepts
inherent in the culture. It seems that "art" cannot be isolated for the
other aspects of Balinese culture because art is such an integral part of the
lives of these unique people. It seems that everyone is involved in some form
of artistically creative pursuit whether it be dancing, making music, carving
in stone or wood, or simply laying out rice paddies in beautifully harmonious
patterns. There is art and beauty everywhere.
I loved that place. And to have the cultural knowledge of our magnificent guide
and the accomplished travel expertise of our tour leader, Nola, made the trip
to me as near perfection as can be had. I would love to go there again and
again.
