McKenzie
|
In 1987 I had the great fortune to meet a soul mate. She came in the form of an
adorable, courageous and free spirited kitten that I named McKenzie. She was
born in Troy, Michigan. I met her the same year that I met Jack Boland. It was
no accident that both these beings came into my life at the same time. They
each impacted me in ways that I struggle to describe.
I knew she was 'mine' the instant that I saw her. From that moment on we had a
deep and special bond. Never in the history of the universe has a kitty spirit
and a human spirit been more perfectly matched!
We had 17 wonderful years together. She made her transition on March 4, 2004.
As I write this, I still grieve her physical loss. She was a huge part of my
life. I grew up with her and went through so many life changes. She was always
there to love and comfort me. She provided endless hours of cuddling, amusement
and support. She was independent, smart (she could open drawers and doors with
her paws!!) and very loving. I will miss her little fuzzy self as long as I
live. ?
She continues to send me little messages of support and encouragement. Through
her dying process she communicated to me in many ways that it was her time to
go. Since her departure from her body she has continued to let me know that it
was all as it was meant to be. I would have expected no less from my little
spiritual master!
I will always be grateful to have shared so many years with such a wonderful
being.
