Three of the world's major religious traditions are rooted in this area: Christianity, Islam and Judaism. Within a single day in Jerusalem you can walk in the footsteps of Jesus, one of the greatest spiritual teachers of all time, place a prayer in the western wall, a most sacred site in Judaism and hear the soulful and beautiful Muslim 'call to prayer' echoing through the ancient streets. This land is literally steeped in spiritual energy and deep belief. To simply be present in this place with awareness is truly transformative. Travel to new destinations and cultures can be a powerful catalyst for our own personal and spiritual evolution. It can help us to shift our perspectives about our lives and ourselves and to see and hear with new openness.
